Mumbai, India- 01st, July 2022: Mr. Ashank Desai, Founder, VC & MD, Mastek Ltd. also a founder-member and past-Chairman NASSCOM, was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award 2021 at the 29th ICT Business Awards show. The award show was held during the Dataquest Leadership Conclave held on June 8. The theme of the conclave was Let’s Transform at Scale with NeXtGen Tech.
Mastek recently celebrated its 40th year anniversary with Mr. Desai as a leader who built a strong heritage of values and focused on business value delivery leveraging technology. All this while, always doing the right thing for employees, clients, investors, and society.
Mr. Desai is an Information Technology entrepreneur, with rich and diverse experience in the IT industry spanning over four decades. He has been a key contributor to NASSCOM since its foundation more than 3 decades ago, for the advantage of Indian IT industry for which he was felicitated by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in 2015. With a strong desire to give-back, he is involved in not-for-profit sector as founder and board member of quite a few organizations in Higher Education, Skill building and Women Empowerment, impacting few thousand young persons in lower strata of society.

Mr. Desai is a valuable stakeholder of IIT Bombay and has contributed significantly to his alma mater’s continued growth and success. He has served as the Vice Chairman at the Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (SINE) at the Institute. Additionally, Mr. Desai has funded the Centre for Policy Studies at IIT Bombay, which is now known as the “Ashank Desai Centre for Policy Studies” and aims to provide a fillip to the study of Public Policy in India. He has also established “Ashank Desai Centre for Leadership and Organizational Development “at IIM Ahmedabad reflecting his long-term horizon and passion to strengthen core facets of the industry.
